Our Mission
Strength has no
expiration date.
We built Kinetic Strength because the fitness industry had spent decades failing the most motivated, most underserved, and most consequential demographic in health: adults over 50 who want to get serious about strength.
The gap in the market
By 2026, the "Active Ageing" fitness market is valued at over £15 billion. The science supporting strength training for longevity has never been clearer. Clinical consensus has reframed resistance training from "optional" to "non-negotiable" for healthy ageing.
And yet, the dominant fitness apps were still designed with a 25-year-old in mind — assuming rapid recovery, ignoring joint health, offering no guidance on the hormonal and physiological changes that make training after 50 fundamentally different.
The high-performance apps used by elite strength athletes? Brilliant — but built for maximum output, not long-term sustainability. The "senior fitness" apps? Often patronising, low-intensity, and offering too little resistance to drive real adaptation.
Nobody was building for the athlete who is 58 years old, has a dodgy left knee and a compression fracture in their lower spine from a decade ago, takes training seriously, reads the research, and just wants a programme that accounts for all of that — without telling them to take it easy.
That's who we built this for.
The science we built on
Sarcopenia risk reduction achievable through structured resistance training
Slower connective tissue recovery in older athletes vs. their 20s
Of over-50s demand personalised programmes reflecting their specific biometrics
These numbers shaped every product decision we've made. The recovery gap is why our programmes build in explicit recovery management. The personalisation demand is why we prioritise joint health reporting and adaptive load management. The sarcopenia data is why we take progressive overload seriously, even when it means going slower than a client wants.
What we stand for
Safety First
Every feature, every programme, every recommendation is filtered through one question: is this safe for the mature athlete? Joint integrity and long-term sustainability are non-negotiable.
Science, Not Myths
Gym mythology doesn't work at 50+. We base our approach on current exercise science, gerontology research, and the clinical consensus on longevity medicine — not what worked for someone's nephew at university.
Strength Is Medicine
We believe resistance training is the most underutilised longevity intervention available. Our mission is to make evidence-based strength training accessible to every adult over 50 who wants to engage with it.
Aspirational, Not Patronising
Our members aren't "elderly." They're experienced athletes who know their bodies, have fought for their fitness, and deserve tools that respect their ambition. We never talk down to them.
Built by people who live it
Our founding team brings together exercise physiology, software engineering, and most importantly, lived experience of training through the decades. Team bios coming soon.
